English Proverbs 166 - 168


The following are common English proverbs and short meanings and explanations in Kurdish, leave a comment if you know an equivalent Kurdish proverb for each. 

166. Crooked by nature is never made straight by education.
كه‌سێك به‌ سروشتی خۆی لات وله‌وێر بێت په‌روه‌رده‌ ڕاست وڕێكی ناكاته‌وه‌.

واته‌: سروشتی مرۆڤ و ته‌بیعه‌ته‌ خۆڕسكه‌كانی زاڵه‌ به‌سه‌ر هه‌ر جۆره‌ ڕێنمایی وپه‌روه‌رده‌ كردنێك.

167. Cross the stream where it is shallowest.
له‌ ته‌نكایی ڕووباردا بپه‌ڕه‌وه‌.

واته‌: پێویسته‌ مرۆڤ ساده‌ترین وئاسانترین ڕێگا بگرێته‌به‌ر بۆ ئه‌وه‌ی ئامانجێكی بهێنێته‌دی، ڕێگایه‌كی قورس و ئاڵۆز نه‌گرێته‌به‌ر له‌گه‌ڵ ئه‌وه‌ی ڕێگایه‌كی ساده‌ و ئاسان هه‌یه‌.

168. A crow is never the whiter for washing itself often.
قه‌له‌ڕه‌ش هه‌رچه‌نده‌ خۆی بشوات هه‌رگیز سپی نابێت.

واته‌: هیچ هۆكارێكی جوانكاری ناتوانێ ڕووی ناشیرین بشارێته‌وه‌ ودایپۆشی.

The following are the equivalence of English proverb of Kurdish proverbs. 1. دڕك ترێ ناگرێ. 1. A bad day never had a good night 2. ئیشی خراپه‌ نامرێ. 2. A bad thing never dies. 3. چۆله‌كه‌یه‌كی ناو ده‌ست له‌ دوو چۆله‌كه‌ی سه‌ر دره‌خت باشتره‌. 3. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. 4. مریشكی ڕه‌ش هێلكه‌ی سپی ئه‌كا. 4. A fair face may hide a foul heart. 9. له‌ پاش هه‌زار گوناحان یه‌ك تۆبه‌. 9. A fault confessed is half redressed. 10. چاكه‌ له‌گه‌ل ناكه‌س به‌چه‌دا په‌شیمانی له‌ دوایه‌. 10. A favour ill-placed is great waste.
