English Proverbs 148 - 150


The following are common English proverbs and short meanings and explanations in Kurdish, leave a comment if you know an equivalent Kurdish proverb for each.

148. A clear conscience fears not false accusations.
ویژدانی پاك وبێ تاوان له‌ تاوانباركردنی درۆ وبێ بنه‌ما ناترسێ.

واته‌: ئه‌گه‌ر تۆ دڵنیابوویت له‌ پاكی وبێ تاوانی خۆت ئه‌وا ویژدانت ئاسووده‌یه‌ بۆیه‌ تاوانباركردن ولۆمه‌ی كه‌س زیانت پێناگه‌یه‌نێ.

149. Clothes do not make the man.
جل وبه‌رگ پیاو دروست ناكات.

واته‌: پیاو به‌ كه‌سایه‌تی وسیفاته‌ جوان وباشه‌كانییه‌تی نه‌وه‌ك به‌ جل وبه‌رگ وڕووخساری.

150. Comparisons are odious.
به‌رواردكردن سته‌مه‌.

واته‌: ئه‌گه‌ر به‌راورد له‌ نێوان دووكه‌س بكه‌یت ئه‌وا سنورت به‌زاندووه‌ وسته‌مت له‌ هه‌ردووكییان یان یه‌كێكییان كردووه‌ چونكه‌ كاتێك به‌رواد ده‌كه‌یت حوكم وبڕیار له‌سه‌ر ئه‌وه‌ ده‌ده‌یت كه‌ بینیوته‌ به‌ڵام له‌ هه‌موو بارودۆخ وڕاستییه‌كانی ئه‌و دووكه‌سه‌ ئاگادار نیت.
