Everyday Idioms: Easier Said Than Done


These everyday-life idioms can help foreign learners acquire spoken English skills so that they can engage in fluent communication. The key expressions will be explained, supported by example, sentences and where relevant, language help notes. Leave a comment by giving an example for each idiom.

easier said than done [informal]: said when something seems like a good idea but would be difficult to do:
بیرۆكه‌یه‌كی باشه‌ به‌ڵام پێده‌چێ ئه‌نجامدانی زه‌حمه‌ت بێ.

"Why don't you just ask Simon to pay?" "That's easier said than done."
باشه‌ بۆ داوا له‌ سایمن ناكه‌ی پاره‌كه‌ بدات؟ بیرۆكه‌یه‌كی باشه‌ به‌ڵام پێده‌چێ ئاسان نه‌بێ.
