Kurdish - English Proverbs 11 - 20




The following are the equivalence of English proverb of Kurdish proverbs.
11. به‌ردێك نه‌زان بیخاته‌ گۆمه‌وه‌ به‌سه‌د دانا ده‌رنایه‌.
11. A fool may throw into a well a stone which a hundred wise men cannot pull out.
12. دۆست ئه‌وه‌یه‌ ئه‌م گرێنێ، دوژمن ئه‌وه‌یه‌ ئه‌م كه‌نێنێ.
12. A friend’s frown is better than a fool’s smile.
13. ئه‌گه‌ر هه‌تبێ میوان زۆره‌، ئه‌گه‌ر نه‌تبێ مارت چۆله‌.
13. A full purse never lacks friends.
14. ده‌زگای پته‌و له‌ چه‌كوش وه‌شاندن ناترسی.
14. A good anvil is not afraid of the hammer.
15. له‌ پاش هه‌موو ناخۆشییه‌ك خۆشییه‌.
15. After a storm comes rain, after clouds sunshine.
16. ناوبانگی باش بۆ مرۆڤ له‌ زێڕ باشتره‌.
16. A good name is better than riches.
17. درۆزن ئاگری له‌ ماڵیشی به‌ربێ كه‌س پێی باوه‌ڕ ناكات.
17. A liar will not be believed even when he speaks the truth.
18. زگی برسی كه‌س ناپرسی.
18. A hungry stomach has no ears.
19. سه‌گێكی زیندوو له‌ شێرێكی مردوو باشتره‌.
19. A living dog is better than a dead lion.
20. به‌ قسه‌ی خۆش مار له‌ كون دێته‌ ده‌ر.
20. All doors are open to courtesy.
